People have a tendency to put too many Koi in their ponds. This can cause diseases to spread more rapidly and make the environment more harsh for the fish to live in. The ideal situation for a medium density Koi pond is about 100 gallons of water per pound of fish. Refer to the chart below to determine the weight of your Koi.
